Dr. Alex Bennett is a board certified optometrist in Panorama City, California. He earned his undergraduate degree in Natural Resources Management from Colorado State University before spending over ten years as an optician, developing a strong foundation in physical optics and eyewear fabrication along with the fundamentals of patient-centric care. Dr. Bennett later earned his Doctor of Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
His clinical interests include specialty contact lens fitting, particularly scleral lenses for patients with irregular corneas. These interests were discovered during his optometry training, including mentorship with Dr. Barry Leonard, OD.
In 2023, Dr. Bennett became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and is currently pursuing his Fellowship with the Scleral Lens Education Society. He enjoys giving back to the optometric community by lecturing on irregular corneas, ectasias, and specialty contact lens applications. He is also an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association.
Outside of practice, Dr. Bennett likes to go on long runs and has completed 6 marathons to date. He also plays the drums, and enjoys spending time with his wife Tiffany, and their daughter Cami.
